Slag insulation deployed to Sweden

Rockwool is an international producer of energy insulation products for buildings. The company has been using Harsco’s slag in Norway for many years, as a raw material feed for its manufacturing process. Slag is a renewable resource and functions well as an insulation material.  

Collaborative innovation in Beijing

On 14th Dec 2010, Harsco Metals met with the University of Science and Technology Beijing to review the findings of the 6-month long research programme into possible applications for steel mill by-products from 8 participating steel mills in China.

Slag use on Utah Interstate project benefits environment

In Utah (USA), a section of the I15 Interstate is being upgraded and renovated using 1.2MT of slag aggregate recovered by Harsco Metals from a steel mill dump.
